Year 8 Algebra Recap
(a) Revision of simplifying algebraic expressions (multiplying, dividing, adding, expanding single brackets).
(b) Revision of solving simple equations, e.g. (x2 - 7)/2 = 9 and 1 - 3x = 2x - 7
Changing the Subject (pre-GCSE)
(Based on the Tiffin Year 8 scheme of work) (a) Change the subject of any formula where the new subject appears only once. Includes roots, squares, brackets, where x appears within a negative term and/or in the denominator.
(b) Be able to cross multiply.
(c) Determine a value when the formula and values of all other variables are given.
(Used for the Tiffin Year 8 scheme of work. Does not include loci.)
(a) Construct triangles given SAS (Side-Angle-Side), ASA, SSS.
(b) Construct perpendicular and angle bisectors, angles of 30, 45, 60 and 90, and the perpendicular from a point on a line.
KS3/GCSE 2D Shapes
Properties of 2D shapes.
GCSE Interior & Exterior Angles
Interior and exterior angles of polygons, including tessellation problems.
